BIKE PLUS PLAN

Bike Plus is a plan by the City of Columbus to create a safe, connected and comfortable network for people to bike, scooter, skate and roll in the city. Through transportation improvements like protected bike lanes, trails and crosswalks, this plan will make it more convenient and enjoyable to get around Columbus without a car.

BIKES NOT BOMBS

Bikes Not Bombs has been inspiring FCW for years. Based in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, Bnb donates thousands of bikes to international Bicycle Shops that they help create. Bnb also has some incredible youth programs which motivate us to work with the Youth of Franklinton and Greater Columbus.

A group of folks who enjoy gravel road riding in Ohio and beyond. Look for events, routes, gear and experiences on their website linked below. There are rides nearly every weekend year around. The rides are free, unsupported, and loads of fun.

Sheldon Brown’s website provides an A-Z resource of everything bicycle.  This is probably one of the most used and referenced bicycle guides for researching used bicycles and repair tips.

PARK TOOL REPAIR HELP VIDEOS

Park tool has a YouTube channel with dozens of “how-to” videos. Its a great resource for those wishing to learn bike maintenance and repair, or those suddenly faced with a mechanical puzzle. You can watch the videos on your smart phone which makes them particularly accessible and helpful.

THIRD HAND BIKE CO-OP

Third Hand Bike Co-op is Columbus’ original Bicycle Co-op serving the Weinland Park area on the north east side of downtown. Third Hand has been operating since 2005 and has been able to provide an impressive amount of open shops and events throughout the week. Check their website for their latest open shop hours.

Yay Bikes is a Central Ohio bike organization that specializes in cyclist education, mobility solutions, mobility research and all things bike culture.  Join them for their monthly Year or Yay rides and become a member today to support their work in making Columbus a safe and thriving bike city.
